Yes! It was sooo much fun. I have done it twice. Neither time involved Children, but you certainly could. The first time I did it with my faculty at school. We set a 10 dollar limit on the ornament and then drew numbers. We started with #1 and went until everyone had an ornament. The person could take a previously opened ornament or open a new one. Here is how I have described the Holiday Season for over 35 years: The first Sunday in December begins Advent. We light the Advent candles every day until Christmas Eve. When my children were younger, we might alter this to begin Advent on December first and use an Advent calendar along with the Candles.
